We're a little crazy, about science!

The power of racism

Fuck Neo-Nazis. People carrying confederate and Nazi flags (so the same fucking flag basically).
But why would you call them Nazis just because they have a different opinion? Gee… I have no idea.

America the colorblind. It’s not that we don’t see color here, it’s that we ignore it intentionally. Willful ignorance to the depths of our hatred for others is not an excuse and has never been one. We, as in the US, elected literal neo-Nazi’s to office (not talking about Trump, or rather not JUST Trump). I fought for this country, buried friends for this country, is it so fucking hard to ask that the country not be racist?

Look at the color of your shirt. Go on, don’t worry I’ll still be here. If your shirt isn’t green then you are a bastard. You are less than a human. You are a criminal. We will from now on separate you from your green shirt wearing counterparts, make sure you are not fairly represented, and no longer have easy access to vote. Well on the brightside, you can change a shirt, you can’t change your skin color.

If it sounds absurd to judge someone based on the color of their shirt, then I have some bad news for you. Judging someone based on skin color is just as absurd, if not more so because skin color isn’t a choice. Yet white America decides time and time again that this is the only thing that matters. Rich or poor, young or old, good or evil, if you are white you are in a different class. Not because you are better than the people around you, but because you’re afraid just as the people before you were.

I could give examples or go into the historical significance of white fear. I won’t and frankly if you are white, you probably wouldn’t give a shit if I did. Am I making you uncomfortable by saying “white,” well that’s kind of the point. More than a few white people came out in condemnation of Trump saying things like, “I had no idea he was racist!” only to come out in droves for this election. In fact more white people voted for Trump this election than the last. If that doesn’t spell it out clear enough for you, then go fuck yourself.

It isn’t just that I’m angry, I’m disappointed that we have to play this fucking game. Your skin color doesn’t make you better than anyone and if you were born white and ignore your privilege than you’re no better than the people who voted for the fucking literal neo-Nazi Representative (way to go North Carolina).

Oh and now the rally cry that they aren’t Nazi’s, well if the fucking survivors of the holocaust are warning you then you may want to shut the fuck up and listen. Sure they aren’t calling themselves Nazi’s, but neither did the fucking Nazi’s. That’s crazy to learn, I’m sure! It’s time that white people stopped being so fucking comfortable. If there are ten people sitting at a table with a Nazi, you’re looking at eleven fucking Nazis.

This election should’ve been a landslide, but the system worked as designed. It kept people from voting, made it almost impossible for people to cast a ballot. Suddenly pipes are bursting where ballots are being held, voting machines are breaking, hundreds of thousands of ballots are being “lost” in the mail. The system was built on racism, in its core it is a racist system and it works.

It is keeping the minority ruling over the decent people who want to be treated equally. People who want to be judged by their actions and not by the color of their skin. I’ll leave you on this note. Not all white people. I’m sure it’s coming, someone will inevitably shout, “NOT ALL WHITES!” Okay, not all whites, but if you were doing something about it to make the changes we need, you sure as hell wouldn’t bother shouting that. Maybe you should look in a mirror and think about the last time you did something to help make a change.

America, I’m disappointed. I shouldn’t be, I should’ve known, but I wanted to think we had become better than we were. Instead mediocre white people are scared and we all need to coddle them because that’s the system and it isn’t going anywhere, certainly not now.

  2. It is sad that in 2020, you and many have to educate people about racism but keep it up! I can’t erase the comments that I have seen from my own friends and family but I can choose to be honest with them when they realize I have disappeared from their lives, Iike a ghost. If they care to ask why I am gone, I will show them your post since you made the very definition of racism, so easy and clear. Thank you!

    • Thank you for doing your part to help end this. It’s sad we really have to fight so hard to make forward progress. We have to work together to make a change and I’m glad you’re part of that, so thank you!
