Day 238: Well spoke too soon…

Yesterday I gave an update on the USS Roosevelt situation. It was basically an update to the predictions I made about how the military was going to handle it and it turns out I was on point. Today is going to be a short post, but I guess there is more to add to the story so let’s just go ahead and get started.

Well more and more information keeps coming to light about the coronavirus outbreak on the Roosevelt. It turns out there were some serious concerns pretty early on and the outbreak started with the nuclear reactor crew, or rather the people who maintain and run the reactors.

In any case, a quick recap is probably in order. The captain of the Roosevelt wrote a four page email explaining the situation and that he needs help. This was a carrier killer move and he knew it when he did it, so points to him for giving up years and years of work for his crew. The military did the usual military thing, make him appear to be incompetent and justify the fact they they fired him, like literally kicked him out of the military. He knew this was coming though and that makes it even more obvious that this was a deadly serious situation and the military simply did not care.

Well we’ve had our first death on the Roosevelt and it won’t be the last. The military has decided to only switch out the crew that is testing positive which means they are just turning the Roosevelt into a coronavirus factory. It’s all very frustrating, but I’m glad I’m not serving at the moment. The living conditions do not help the situation and anyone who has served knows that when one person gets sick they all do. Unfortunately, the experience of most of the people in charge involves watching war movies. I hate this, I hate this so much.
