Day 109: Post exam exhaustion

exhausted student.jpg

It’s over. The term has finally come to an end and I’ve taken my final as of yesterday. It’s bittersweet, on one hand I can now (sort of) relax. On the other, it means that there are exactly zero chances for me to improve my grade. I’ve done my best and now I need to hope that it is enough to get me to the finish line.

As promised, a short update on my exam performance. It went about how I expected. Drew a blank on the exam and of course afterwards I realized just how I screwed up and how I could’ve gotten the correct solution. The typical response for my exams basically. Certainly not a good thing, but hopefully I did enough to at least pass. I’ll know in ~2 weeks.

Now that it is the day after and the week of 24/7 adrenaline surge has dissipated I feel exhausted. I feel like I could sleep for a week and still be exhausted. I feel like I ran a marathon for weeks straight. You get the idea.

Today I plan on taking the day easy. I have a few other things that I need to do, a confrence call to coordinate for next week (the neurotech bootcamp that I am a chair for), some data processing, and poster making. The usual, but all things I can do with minimal brain effort and that’s really what I need right now.

It’s been a hell of a term, I am once again taking a single class next term and I hope that the coursework is structured differently so I won’t have to stress about passing the class. We will see… I’m not sure what to expect from the class. Interesting the instructor for this class and the one I am taking in the spring are both on my qualifying exam committee, so these are people I will be dealing with on a regular basis since they will both likely be on my dissertation committee.

Hopefully things will go well. I’ve been reassured from, well basically everyone who took the class in the lab that I will do fine despite my feelings to the contrary. The next two weeks should be interesting, I’ll be blogging from the confrence this time next week, then two days after I get back I’ll have my QE. Things are changing quickly and I hope that I can keep up with it.

Until next time, don’t stop learning!

But enough about us, what about you?
